Don Mueang International Airport(DMK) is the busiest airport in Thailand before the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport(BKK). There are still many flights land at DMK, especially those low-cost airlines such as Nok Air and AirAsia. If your flight lands at DMK rather than BKK, how to get to downtown Bangkok?

Airport Buses

A1 and A2 bus route can take you to most of the places in downtown Bangkok you want to go. The bus stops are at the exit 6 of terminal 1 and the exit12,14 of terminal 2.

The operating hours are from 08:30-23:30. The frequency is 30 minutes. The ticket fare is ฿ 30 and the ticket can be bought from the driver while you on board. One of the recommended ways is taking an airport bus to BTS Mo Chit station then transfer to the Skytrain system.

There are 6 routes can take you to downtown Bangkok. The most frequently taken route is route No.29 since it has a 24-hours service. Route No. 554 and 555 connect the Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Train

Don Mueang Train Station is only 800 meters away from the airport. Just follow the direction indication and you will find it. Travelers can take the train to Hua Lamphong train station. Although the ticket fare is cheap, taking a train is slower and it’s possible to delay.

Taxi

Taking a taxi is the easiest way to leave the airport. It takes about 30-60 minutes to get to downtown Bangkok from the airport, depending on traffic. An airport surcharge(฿ 50) and expressway fee will be charged additionally on each ride. The approximate taxi fare is about ฿ 350.
