【 Travel 】Baggage Allowance of Emirates Airlines

Emirates has one of the world’s most generous baggage policies. If you don’t want to miss any information, just check this article so that you won’t miss anything.

Checked Baggage of Emirates:

There are two kind of baggage concepts in the rule. They are separated by the flight route you’ll take. One is “Weight Concept “, which applies to all routes, excluding flights to and from destinations in the Americas and travel originating in Africa. The other one is “Piece Concept ”, which applies to all flights to and from destinations in the Americas and flights originating in Africa. Moreover, for Economy passenger, the allowance also depends on the fare of your ticket.

1. Weight Concept

Notes:
1. You can check in as many bags as you like, as long as the total weight does not exceed the maximum weight for your class of travel. However, each individual bag must weigh less than 32 kg.
2. The total dimensions (length + width + height) of an individual bag should not exceed 300 cm (118 inches), bags exceeding this limit will not be accepted as check-in luggage.
3. If your trip from Australia, New Zealand, or Asia to North or South America includes a stopover in Dubai longer than 24 hours, or a sector in Europe or Africa, the weight concept will apply for the entire ticketed journey.

2. Piece Concept (the Americas and flights originating in Africa)

Special Cases:

1. Customers travelling with infants?

Sure do! Customers in any class of service who are travelling with an infant are permitted one piece of checked-in baggage for the infant that may not exceed 55 x 38 x 20 cm (22 x 15 x 8 inches) in size and 23kg (50lb) where the piece concept applies; or where the weight concept applies, 10kg (22lb). Moreover, you are permitted to bring one carry-cot or one fully collapsible stroller into the cabin if there is room. If there is no space for these items in the cabin, they will have to be checked. However, if checked, they will not count against your baggage allowance.

2. Sports equipment and musical instruments?

Both of these are applied to the Cabin Baggage Allowance above. That being said, I suggest to buy your baby instrument a seat beside you. Nobody can promise if your baby will go on without you.

Bon Voyage~
