Baggage Allowance of Lufthansa Airlines

There is a new kind of seat class. ‘Economy Light’ means if you travel with a cabin baggage only. However, you can still add one piece of checked baggage to your booking for a fee.

- If your cabin baggage is a trolley case, please use the overhead locker above your seat.
- Please note that the overhead lockers above the emergency exit rows are reserved for the passengers who are sitting there.
Special Cases:
1.Baggage more then 32kg
The Baggage will be seen as a cargo and can be sent as air freight.
2.Sport Equipment or Musical Instrument?
If they meet the limitation of cabin baggage, it can be seen as normal baggage. If it exceed the allowance, you can add it online 24 hours before departure.
The musical instrument should in the size of 55 x 40 x 23 cm. That being said, the instrument exceed the limitation, it should be checked in (max 155 x 42 x 25 cm), or you can choose to buy it a seat (max 110 x 42 x 50 cm).
3.Child or Infant
Lufthansa doesn’t offer any child car seat or other kinds of child restraint system. If you want to travel with your child seating on a child restraint system, you have to buy a child’s seat and bring the child restraint system yourself, or your kid can only sit on your lap.
You can bring child items on board:
For 0-2 years old, one piece (max 23kg, L+H+W=158cm)
For 2-7 years old, same free baggage allowance as adults.
However, Economy Light does not fit to the allowance above.
